Green Light Signal and Beyond

(1/1)

DamonHD:
Just in case this is of interest: folding in a gentle signal to manual LED room lighting.

(Not cheap, though with the option of disco lighting on demand!)

Bruce S:
Interesting reading through your trails and tribulations of getting this thing to work and then going one better :).
Has any of the original manufacturer reached out to you about fixing their product?

OR has others, like you gone the open-source route and just fixed it?
The "breathing" part of the light would get irritating to me after bit. Wouldn't matter if it was green or red.
Possibly redirect that color to say a little RGB LED that changes colors with the Grid notices?

Cheers;

DamonHD:
1) LIFX stubbornly refuses to publish the onboarding step it seems, though it turns out to be semi-trivial (~10 lines of python published in an open source library).

2) I'm happy to talk to (GB) National Grid once I'm happy that all is stable and has a good UX for the family.  Allegedly I am a 'legend' with NG on this intensity stuff, so we'll see.  B^>

DamonHD:
I've made the breathing quite slow and shallow and only one 'breath' every few minutes (and only in 'red') and it doesn't feel irritating to me yet.

I think only my daughter has noticed the thing at all so far!
