I just bought a morningstar ts60 and was a bit disappointed to learn it does not include a remote temp sensor in the box.
I will probably end up buying one, but before doing that, I had another thought.
Could I not use an RTS I already have, either from a trace/xantrex c40 or a midnite classic?
iirc, both of those rts have some kind of male plug, eg rj-12. But I believe only two wires are actually used.
The morningstar has no plug, it just has two small lugs for two wires, and the manual says that the polarity does not matter.
So, I'm wondering what would happen if I just snip off the plug, probably from a c40 sensor (cuz I have spares) and wire it in.
crazy idea, or crazy like a fox?
