Peltier, wood stove, air movement.

Birdhouse here. 

Haven't  posted in a while.  The wind turbine is doing too much juice...  more on that later..

I ordered 40mm x 40mm peltier electrics stuff.  6A 15.?? V.

I ordered ALU heat sinks for both sides.

Looking to put one w sinks on top of a wood stove to run a 90mm 12vdc fan to move air. 

The front wall where the wood stove is located is 12' tall.  The back wall is 8'. 

The 90mm fan is .19A looking to pull air from the ceiling of the 12' wall and put it at the bottom of the 8' wall via pipe. 

Please tell me my idea is wrong.

Be better off with a solid plate of aluminum(copper would b more efficient) on the wood stove side. You are basically describing how the commercial ones work! They have a peltier device in the bottom of the fan that provides voltage to the fan motor.

I'll 2nd what Mary B said on the hot side.
How are you going to cool the other side of the Peltier device?
If you're standing the device on top of the wood stove all the extra heat rising will get right to the side that needs to be cooled for it to work.

To cool the cool side, I'm thinking maybe a square steel tube 12" tall with holes in the bottom and a second fan mounted on top of square tube to push air past the cool sink. 

I would think the air even 12" above the stove top would be cooler than right next to stove top. 

Hopefully enough amps/ma would be left to power the main fan to push air through a small duct for comfort reasons.

For the most part this is correct, the larger the diff the better for volts/ma, along with not burning up the chip  ;)

There are different schools of thought when it comes to pushing or pulling the coolant air. I'm always for pushing since it follows hot air rising. BUT there are those who say using the pull method assists with a vacuum to suck the cooler air in.
Basically it's whichever you're comfortable with, and the fan you plan on using.
IF you have an area where there even a slight incoming air leak, that's a nice use of it :-).
