well their finally up and running and feeding the grid. those r 2hp 120v 21amp dc motors wired in series feeding a 300 watt GTI.
-
neat.
lots of room for more.
i thought you had written , "giver" on the side of the building which is Canadian for try real hard.
what is the dia. of the individual rotors.
-
the 6 blades r made from sch 35 pvc at 20 inchs mounted on a 6 inch 3/16 plate steel hub. working on three more should b up in a few weeks.
-
the word is Gower, their mounted on top of the garage. their mostly pretty quit but in 25 mph and up wind they sound like an airplane. going to need a 500 watt GTI that handles higher voltages because the 300 disconnects at 32volts. still learning I have $300 in everything including the GTI and the disconnect.
-
not to be a safety sally, but is that GTI from china (via ebay?)?? if so, it's sketchy, and most times illegal activity.
just a thought.

LT-S300G-WDL US seller. well the electric company meter reader came into my garage to check the hook up and to check the GTI to make sure it has Irland protection which it does. he liked it and they do allow net metering. u said "via ebay" does that mean that items on ebay r all from china? or that their all unsafe?
-
define sketchy. and tell me why it would b illegal? and what would make it unsafe?

Here, the in USA anything you connect to the grid MUST be UL certified, otherwise you risk killing a power poll person,
IF you go look at the specs of this piece of crap, you'll see the AC freq is way out of control range for even the worst USA gird line.
A US seller doesn't mean squat, you buy it and connect it to the grid, and hurt someone besides yourself you go to jail, simply put.
Here's a *bay link go read 2/3rds the way down read the specs, show them to a lineman and wait for their reaction. 8)

if it does not detect a live grid it will not power up. when I turn the breaker off that goes to the GTI the red comes on and I checked it with my volt meter and there was no power comeing out. turn the breaker on and I have power. Idont c the link.

Read #3 especially then read the FAQs in the wind section.

what do u recomend?
-
I would go with one that is fully UL compliant, these are findable almost as easily as these "others". Just more expensive due to the extra safety built in, outback quickly comes to mind, but there are others.
Best of luck

I do wish you would post closer pic of the mills with more detailed info.
Blades, normal output/mph the build up of each one, that type of info is what helps others.
PS>> part of your handle reminds me of Hee-Haw from back in the day you in GA?
-
I watched that show all da time. i left more info the newbie section.

this would have to include gas power generators as well.

It does say it has Island Protection , I be leave that means it will shut down when the main power goes out, right?

no furling ? i always liked windstuffnows downwind mill..dont have to worry about blade strikes on the tower..
i belive he off set it a bit so it would turn out of the wind in high winds..

Anything grid connected has to be UL listed, I don't see UL listed on that GTI so I would not use it. Means it hasn't been tested to prove it won't kill someone or burn your house down. Someone else on here had a bad experience with one of those almost starting his house on fire.

they have 360 clearance. I have now added a 48 volt 15 amp turbine and is wired in, and went up to a bigger GTI, had good wind from sept, to current cut my electric bill in half, back in july when we had the big storm here we had wind speeds of 85 mph on the roof top they sounded like a bunch of jets, lol ;D
