You know it's "Jerry Rigged"

I remember from reading about it. ;)

I also see Cap's in this one also,

Looked much smaller sized,

like the ones I save from computer power supply's

  1. v, 330uF
  2. v, 680uF
  3. v, 470uF
  4. v, 4700uF
  5. v, 4700uF

Just to pull out a few and give the numbers

I just looked at one on a mother board that

I had to change three or four on and it's

6.3vDC, 3300uF

Hey jerry could ya please go over the reason

why and maybe some value's.

just so I get a better grip on it.

Thanks

For all the great posts

:)

PS: Tell the little one that was GREAT

to get a BLUE !!!!!!!!

This littel genny is wired as per the GM alt below. It needed help to make enough voltage to lite the LEDs with just a spin of the blade for demo purpases.

The gap is fairly wide and with small magnets and only 3 coils this wireing scheem helped a bunch.

Just to the left of the blade are 3 wite LEDs and 1 red. Each wite LED is wired to just one phase. As you spin the blade they blink in sucsession.

At high rpm a larger red LED at the left lites up.

It was fun.

I'm glad she did well :)

Great father daughter team eh.

Wish I could get my 14yr old more interested again, she kinda drifted away from such things now. She will get more interested soon when the whole house is Wind genny, batteries, inverter.

Except for her room which will be Batteries and inverter only :)

I wonder how fast she wil be able to build a wind genny then? The cordless phone will be pluged into her room also!!

How old is your daugther that built this? Nice work.

Jerry, great to see that your granddaughter did so well! It's nice that it was set up for just a hand spin. Bet the people had a ball spinning it to see the led's light up. No need for a box fan to spin it. With your guidance, I bet she learned a few things. You both should be proud! Gary D.
