Not sure where you live but here at about 43 North latitude a 32" thick pad would frost heave out in 10 years or less without some footings below frost depth under it. Just a thought from the cold country up here.

Thats one stout hunk of iron on the base there, I doubt that will ever fail.


At first I thought it was free standing but closer inspection revealed guy cables on it [good thing].

I failed to mention there are 2,  12" diameter reinforced concrete pillars, 6 feet deep in the center of the dug pit, beneath the "T" base.  You can actually see them in the before pour picture.   Yes, although slack in the picture, there are 4 guys at 40 feet and 4 more up at about 78 feet.  The taught lines in the left of the pic are gin pole support guys and the pull cable.  Thank you for your observations.

Beautiful tower..3 times my projected height.

Nice looking country too.

I like to see where these turbines live

You have created a good looking tower and turbine.
