I'm thinking of purchasing a home in an area where the prevalent heating systems are natural gas forced air, natural gas steam heat and oil forced air and oil steam heat. I prefer the steam heat shying away from oil fuel until it occured to me that WVO could be a darn cheap way to heat. Question is: what has to be done for conversion, is it a better idea to mix fuel oil with WVO or what is the best way to go about it. I've never owned a fuel oil system before and don't even know what fuel oil is really! Not to waste the time of others, I did search on the subject, and all I could find on this site is waste motor oil use which doesn't sound too good. I'm thinking there is an abundance of restaurants and hence, WVO in the town I'm thinking of moving to (that would be Mount Vernon, NY), and doubt there are many vying for it for vehicles, heat and the like. I think steam heat on free WVO would be ultra hip and cheap. Thanks for your help.
