« on: October 17, 2005, 07:20:35 AM »
I find it interesting that Southwest Windpower is apparently planning to sell a newly developed turbine dubbed "Storm". Hopefully it will live up to the hype!

"SUMMARY NREL and Sandia specs;

downwind span of 3.35 m.

turbine rated at 1.8 kW.

power/RPM regula-tion by a patented "electronic" stall control method.

3 blade NREL S822 airfoil

Cp curve with a peak of approximately 0.45.

tip speed ratio (TSR) of 7.0

available 2006"

Apparently the beta field tests are underway, anyone know how they are working?
