That was
http://mikeswindmillshop.com
Could not find it at first, went through Ebay and finaly found it, now see I been there before anyway after I saw the site
Don't know anything about them myself or those wind gennies they sell. Remanufactored GM altenater wound for wind genie using large magnet (Neo I think) is about all I could find for details.
If you buy them let us know how they work out. Has anyone else bought them yet, or is mike maybe a member here
I saw postings here before about modding altenators to be used for wind gennies. Might be how I first found that site, or maybe I found it with google instead?
Anyway I geuss if they work as good as claimed and you want something already built ready to raise, then the price might not be bad. The claim is over 800watts in high winds though, I didn't actually see what they are supposed to produce in the low winds where they start producing at.
"The 12/24 will start out at 12 volts in low winds and will increase as the winds pick up. "
Hmm, what the watts there, before they pickup to the "In high winds either system will produce well over 800 Watts", and how high of winds is that??
"Permanent magnet alternator for efficient power with 600 + Watt output
6 blades gives a lot more torque so there is no computer needed "
Again no winds speeds mentioned to get that 600watts, and I think it is normally recomended to stay with less blades for faster speeds than to use more blades for higher torque. Most everyone seems to be building 2, 3 or 4 bladed mills here. Hardly ever see any of the major guys using more that 4 blades max.
I'd ask a few questions about them. If they are good, then $1,000 for 3 mills to produce 1,800 watts might not be too bad a deal. In a way I'd rather have more smaller mills than one big one myself anyway. That's what I am working on, small ones. If one goes down the rest are still working. Rectifiers have less work to do with smaller amps/watts per mill, but takes more of them, but each should last longer too I would think.
