stator mold

I would like to know what the caulking is that is used in this picture from the Dan's manual for casting stators.

I tried silicone, but it ate away at the edges of the vinyl ester.

Well, I do not know anything about a "manual", but if you look on the main page for wind, and look at the most recent 10' design; in the stator section I believe they say to use car wax, and something else.

Look the guide over, you'll figure it out.

I looked the guide over, and it just says to use caulking.  I tried one kind and it didn't work.

wax it, grease it, coat it....  That stuff sticks really good and it sucks having to rip apart the mold to get the stator ring out.  Also make sure the coils are held in place good so they do not move.
