12 V transformers

Hi, I have a 10 footer at 24 V. My power inverter is for 12 V.
How do I do the hooked up, please?

If you charge your batteries at 24 volts and if it are multiple batteries, you could take 12V from one battery or from the right amount.
If you only have 24V batteries or if you do not want to consume power unevenly over your batteries use a buck converter.

Another choice is using a buck converter to charge your batteries at 12V.

Maybe you can give a little more information about your complete setup.

Transformers only function with AC.

Depending on the exact system, it could be possible to get decent results with the PMA modified to individually rectified phases.  (IRP, or Jerry Rigged)
Some 24V systems will operate well at 12V with the IRP modifications.

Tell us more about your system including how the stator is wired (goes to G's response) it may be the 24v wind turbine will operate into a 12v system by opening up the air gap a bit simplistic solution.

i had the same problem,and tried running imy 24 volt stator  at 12 volts. works fine as long as the wind isnt to high. i found the stator ran hot and eventually burnt out from overspeeding. not a good solution unless you ae in a low wind area where it might work. i wouldn't recommend it though. gurds suggestion sounds the best option if you have access to all the wires. what size is your inverter?
if i cant fix it i can fix it so it cant be fixed.

My inverter is 3000 Watts. The coils are not hooked up or connected between themselves yet.
We need the 12 V and not the 24. The power inverter takes only 12 V. Thanks

 The load across a transformer primary is no t like the load into a battery . There is a very slight resistance across the primary . Charge at 24 volts with Two  12 volt banks at  equal AH then use a transfer switch to switch the inverter from one to the other .

Hi

You say your coils aren't connected yet, if it was designed to give 24V in star could you possibly connect them in delta, that would give closer to the 12V you are looking for.

A 3KW inverter at 12V though is a lot of amps if ever you load it to its full capacity, 250+ amps, that is going to be cruel on the batteries.  If you are doing it just as a hobby for fun OK, but if you need the power I would seriously look at a 24V inverter.
