help with 48 volt charge controller
« on: August 25, 2011, 10:31:12 PM »
I was given a 180 watt damaged panel and a 48 volt charge controller to day.

I would like to convert the charge controller to 12 volt to added to my array in my shop. everything is 12 volt.

the controller is a Chinese made.
is there a way to rewire this unit. Ghurd can it be reconfigured using different diodes. if so I have no idea which ones to use. could you point me in the right direction.

thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

P.s. don't mind the big toe. I'm not a green giant.

That controller looks overly basic.

What are the panel numbers?
I have a feeling the panel is 48V, so to make good (12V) use of the power will require a buck converter controller,
or an MPPT controller.
