Which has some interesting things: 'Be Wary of Standby Power Losses When Choosing LED Luminaires, Experts Say'. Yep - those Watt saving LEDs may not. Oops.

There are many other 'energy saving products' listed there and I do recommend the reading.

Welcome to "buzz word" marketing. That kind of cash could buy a LOT of killer watts here [nearly 6 months for this house] or a large box of CFL and a fair number of Killer Watts. P.T. Barnum said something about there being a sucker born every minute. I think today it is "every second".

Just had to make that sucker crack. But it is one way for rich folks to feel warm and fuzzy about "conservation" on the way home through freeway traffic in the Hummer with the driver and a bucket of KFC for a load.
