Unbelievably efficient little lego motors?
« on: January 03, 2007, 08:12:26 PM »

I saw this on the instructables website. I can't believe the motors efficiency if the 'youtube' video is to believed - must be almost 100% efficient - Never!!!!

Might be a good starting point for newbies,or children interested in renewable energy.

More info on these 'lego mindstorms' motors or permenant magnet alternators here:

Must be a hoax, me thinks........

lol...

someone else likes Lego :)

Yes they're great little motors, the mindstorms/technic motor 43362 (old) is 47% efficient & the newer 71427 (new) 54% (look about 1/2 way down the philohome page for info)

I've messed around with Lego motors as generators, even had the same setup as the instructables site... efficiency is poor tho (motor to motor i'd guesstimate to be around 12-15%)

check out come of my postings to see what else can be done with Lego, great fun
