« on: March 11, 2009, 06:40:07 AM »
Hello everyone. I finished building a battery desulfator and now i want to hook it up. I have 2 golf cart batteries in series to give me 12volts and my desulfator is 12 volts. how would i hook this up? I also need to use the charger so i am kinda lost.

Hello Matrix, I'm also curious to see what the guys say. My issue is the only charger I have is the windmill, besides running jumper cables off my pick-up. I see an average of about 3 amps or 40 watts.

I have read enough to know I'm just gettin started with battery maintnance.

If you built the desulphator, then you know more than us. How did you design it to hook to your batteries?   ????

You have the old 6/12 volt problem.

The desulfator is made for a 12 volt system. Some can be built for 24 or 48 volt.

The problem you have is your batteries are only 6 volt. (I believe) the only way you can use the desulfator/charger combination is to make two batteries "look" like a single 12 volt battery.

From what I have read, you may or may not have good results with this setup. It will probably work if you are just using the desulfator (pinger) to keep the batteries "tuned up". It will probably not work as good if you are trying to resurrect batteries. See the discussion below about recovering batteries.
