power company
« on: June 11, 2004, 08:57:57 AM »
I haven't done anything different at my home other than run a ac unit for a short period of time last month. When I got my bill this month it had dropped about $25 that really makes no sense to me.

The meter that is on my house has some brown spots on it like it has been warm the power co says that that isn't anything to worry about. The meter seems to spin like a well broke in ford. It doesn't take much to make you dizzy if you watch it LOL.

Or mabye I finally have payed them enough that I own part of the company so now they are selling to me at fuel cost only LOL HAHAHAHA.

Does it make sense to run something that you know should make the bill go up, but makes it go down instead?

Hi,

You have accidently bought an experimental overunty AC unit and the government will be at your door soon enough! In the meantime run it 24-7 on the coldest settings possible.

Or maybe the meter is screwed up.

Just joking,

Does your power company do estimated billing every other month?  That might account for the drop.  My power company owed me money once because of that.  Have you really changed nothing?  Going from winter usage to summer can cause a big change sometimes.  You might consider turning all power users off once to make sure that the meter stops turning when you're not using power (no leakage or unknown users of current).

No they dont estimate here we had a big argument with them about that because it made the bill jump alot so now they do an actual reading every time,

Hi Brian, we read our own meter here, but we have a lag time. We write down usage for the last month, but pay for the previous month on the same paper/bill. Possibly you are just a month away from a larger bill.  Hope this makes sence. Gary D.
