New To Wind
« on: February 24, 2005, 01:58:57 AM »
I have been reading about PM motors for power generation.  Would a PM AC motor work as a generator?   I am looking at a 4 rpm 115vAc motor.  Mx. reccom. torque of 108 inches.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

To the first sentence, probably.  Not a 4 rpm motor though, it is probably a geared motor.  And, 108 inches - is htat 108 oz/in or 108 lb/in?

Do not waste your time, it is geared and it is a synchronous motor (1800 or 3600 RPM)
