Experimenting with my cheap mill
« on: March 31, 2008, 10:48:37 PM »
There isn't much wind in our area, so I just experiment with oddball ideas to see what they will do. Here's the latest.

One coil around a curved iron core. Magnets on a rotor are inserted in the middle. We had some wind while I was re-raising it to a magnificent 14 feet, but as soon as it was locked into a vertical position the wind died and hasn't returned for two days.

There is another pic but it isn't cooperating today.

I'll post more about this effort after the wind blows and I get a reading on it.

Never stop having fun folks.

And here is the rotator doomahickey with the magnets.  We are supposed to get 20 km winds in a day or two so I might have some results to post.
