If I ever figure out what's in the box then maybe I can think outside of it.

A question ?

For R.E. use, would you get the

   "Doc Wattson"

or the

   "Watt's Up"

Being the same price only a few differences

They both look great but I've been wondering what one to order,,..   ???

Dan, thank you for your reply regarding the Doc Wattson.  With this meter would I be able to monitor the amps/volts going into my battery bank and also the amp hours of the battery bank?  Electricity is not my strong point.

Thank you,

Otto

The "Doc Wattson" is a better choice for RE because it records 100 time more amp hours and also records in Kwh, thus it doesn't have to be reset as often.

The "Watt's Up" is better for trouble shooting, with it's peak watts recording.

Hey DanB, I have a question for you.  Are you using the 4 wire or the 3 wire configuration for battery charging?  They say in the documentation that the 3 wire is best for high current applications, so I tried the 3 wire hookup and it seems to work fine.  It should run cooler under high current conditions.

Do you see any potential problems that may arise using the 3 wire hookup for charging?
