I picked up used C40 and TC60 charge controllers the other day.   I was thinking the latter was a C60 at the time, but when I got it home I realized it is TC60.  I googled it, hoping for a manual, but all I can find is a PDF brochure.  Xantrex no longer makes it apparently, and doesn't list it anywhere on their site that I can find.

So far, it seems to me like it is basically a cross between the C40 (48v capable) and C60 ( 60 amp ).  Which is good for me, as I run a 48v system.  Also, it is wider than the C series controllers and has a little LED charge meter strip on the front, which is nicer than the C40 blinky light.

So I guess what I'm wondering is:

 * Have you ever used one?  Good or bad points?
 * are there any other differences from the C series?
 * Anyone have a link to the manual for the TC60?

I'd also be curious about the history of that model, and why there seems to be no info on it, when it is seemingly nicer for 48v systems than the C40, which they still sell.

thanks!

I see that danda was only here for this one thread, but perhaps there is an auto notify...

I would be interested in the TC60 if you aren't going to use it.

I have a Pulse Energy PC250 power center which uses basically the same charge controller, My high use is in the summer so an MPPT controller would only be marginally better, and I've had lady bugs short out my old controller. I've replaced it with one out of a TC60 (it's the same board electronicly, but set up so it can be used with a dump load for wind/water turbines) I'd like to have a spare.

For other hunting info, this was originaly developed by Pulse Enery it's a PWM charge controller much like the c60. Trace bought up Pulse Enery and relabeled things, though the board inside the TC60 likely says Pulse Energy. Pulse made the power center to match up with Trace's inverters so they also had the same colors to match.

Anyone else with one is free to contact me (I do check up on things before I send a PayPal or other payment) whitsbox (at) hotmail

Thanks,

Whit
