Test posting photo ecm And 24v question.
« on: April 02, 2011, 11:25:44 AM »
This is a test post The photo shows the connection point of a GE ECM motor.  My question Is... For 24v charging  the connection point should stay connected , how should each of the 3 standard wires be hooked up to rectifyers?

Thank you,

I would suggest using 3 bridges.  25A or 35A.
Heat sink them.  Use heat sink compound.
Some types of ECMs have a suitable dohickey in the brain can.  This one is wired different, but use that chunk if it is in yours.  Put heat sink compound between the chunk and bridges, and between the chunk and can.

Join the bridges 2 AC (~) terminals together, and connect a wire from the ECM to them.
Do that 3 times.
Combine all 3 bridges Pos together, they go to the battery Pos.
Combine all 3 bridges Neg together, they go to the battery Neg.

DanB's sketch is here,

Your other option is to bring the 3 wires down the tower and rectify at the base or wherever. The ECM's I'm getting now, don't have the brain can.

Same as Ghurd said for connection to the rectifiers, each of the 3 wires gets split to the 2 AC terminals of a rectifier (parallel connection). Then combine the DC+ of the rectifiers together... which is your +V out, do the same for the DC- .

Bsafe,
Pretty sure you are typing the file name from the camera card, but not uploading it.

Try-
Click browse.
Find the file.
Click it.
Click OK (if that is an option).
Click insert attachment 1

You are correct, the url is bad. http://img_0735.jpg/

The user must follow thru, browse>insert attachment. Then (more attachments) to get the next pictire uploaded. If the "green paper clip icon" does not appear in or below the post, the board has not uploaded it.

I am unsuccessfully trying to upload the image from my iPhone, any tips or do I have to use a computer?
Ghurd thank you for the ECM advice!

You do have to use a computer, there is a "SMF Mod" that offers support to iPhone, but we do not have it installed here on the board.
