Wind Power
« on: November 12, 2011, 05:14:13 PM »
My generator is giving me 4,000w DC after going through the 3 phase diode. Using a grid tie inverter, or can this be connected straight to the grid tie or does it have to go into a battery bank first?? ::)
Thanks;houstonwinn

houston-
just a quick reply before you get torn up over your question.  MANY MANY more details are going to be needed for any sort of an accurate reply for your particular situation.

for starters, you haven't even mentioned at what voltage, but even that fact is still just the tip of the iceberg.

Adam is correct.

There are many types of GTIs.
Some require a battery.  Others do not.

The G in GTI stands for Grid.
Talk to the electric company, and everyone else involved, before making a GTI purchase.
Any GTI everyone will approve is certain have a respectable manual and tech support.

In the context of this post, 4,000W DC kind of sounds like Vo x Isc.
Or a sales pitch from the PMA seller.

I had no intention of making it sound like houstonwinn was a seller of products.

My intention was to save him the cost and effort of spending money and time to attempt to connect an illegal POS GTI.
