1st solar panel
« on: June 22, 2004, 10:54:36 PM »
Back in April of 2002 I perchased

two Chronar, 4W Panels with Blocking Diode

never did anything with them until last monday.

Looking in my junk pile I found an old

dishnetwork dish and mount.

With a little plywood, paint, wire ,silicone...

I will install a tracking system on this at later time.

output is 18.8 volts open

the panel will be mounted on the horse barn for lighting.

got to get batteries yet.

Thanks Dr. D

Panel is now mounted on barn and PWM Solar charge controler

and battery wired to modified sine inverter 300 watts 600 surge.

New 5W LED lights on order but we have been running two 65watt

reflector flood lights with no problem. The duration we have

the lights on is normaly not over 15 to 20 min. Our needs are not

very large.

A tracking system is in the works.
