This is a follow up on this story, but be warned many pics,

Ok the origional PVC blades did not last long, far too flexable, may be suitable for low speed high torque but!

We carved a set of 3m blades from wood, but due to the cogging albiet only light, we only ballanced the blades by hanging them from mid point. Tracking was less than desirable but up it went.

General output was around 10A (250W), with gusts to 30A.

Last Sunday we lowerd it, pulled the rotor out and set the two endplates up with rotor and blades. A more precise ballance was undertaken, tracking was adressed with shiming.

So the result is a smooth mill, output is at least double. These blades have a twist, unlike the ones fitted to the Phynex but are reasonably quite. I atribute this to the relative slow operating speed, cut in s 120 rpm.

The bridge rectifiers are up top subject to serious corrosion, our next task is to bring them down to ground level. But in theory its summer here so that task is on the ron list, later ron.
