Voltage; wire gauge; number of turns
« on: March 10, 2007, 10:02:39 PM »
So I am trying to build an axial flux alternator, The plans call for 14 gauge wire.  I have 17 gauge wire.  How do I get the same output at the same rpm from this gauge of wire?   Thanks

Wind the coils 2 in hand should do it.

Vawtman is correct with 2 in hand.

I use wire circular mills to get power capacity

14 ga is 4109 cir. mills and 17 ga is 2052 cir. mills
