Heating water
« on: March 31, 2007, 06:10:06 PM »
Hi all

as anyone tried heating water with diesel glowplugs?

It may be a complete no go but I have a few and wanted to experiment.

From what I can tell, they need 11 volts at about 8.5 amps for 95Watts

thinking of building a mini PM alternator to check my knowledge before a bigger build and just got thinking...

Ill wait for the laughs to die down.

Thanks

your much appreciative BadNimby

One reason for them not working is that they're not designed for continuous use. Just ~15 seconds of preheating per engine cold start.
