Now Officially a battery bum ...
« on: March 04, 2005, 05:25:21 AM »
Well, I guess I can officially be classified as a battery bum.

I wrote emails to all of the local golf courses, local businesses that use forklifts and truck shops asking if they had any used, deep cycle batteries that they woulld like to see go to good use. I explained what I would be using them for and ... we shall see what, if anything, becomes of it.

Perhaps they would like to see some of their older rotated stock or swap-outs get used.

If this doesn't pan out, I guess I'll have to start saving up for some T-105s.

Wish me luck!

I will start doing the same after I get my genny closer to being done. I would hate to finish it an dnot have it in use due to lack of storage.

One response, so far.

The closest golf course returned my email but unfortunately all their carts are gas type. He did say I could place a sign at the clubhouse asking for any used batteries.

Quite accomodating, I thought.

Well, I have cleaning up our warehouse and have a small pile -- 6 and 12 volt from old emergency light systems, etc.  I was going to haul them to the scrap yard . . .  you anywhere near Dallas, TX?  They are yours if you want them.
