Newbie - Where do Canadians buy Golf Cart Batteries?
« on: November 24, 2009, 06:25:37 PM »
Slowly sstarting a small system and I'd like to get 2x 6V golf cart batteries just to get the hang of it.

I tried sourcing locally at Total Battery, but they are asking for 140$/each.

I've been told to go to the states and get some at either sam's club or costco for 65-75$/each, but I'd rather spare myself the drive.

So, fellow canadians, any good deals to be had? :)

Cheers,
S.

Holy Mackerel, I paid about sixty bucks for mine, but that was 5 years ago.

Where do Canadians buy Golf Cart Batteries?

Try Walmart, like everyone else in the world, eh?

Calgary's got a Costco, too; how about your city?

Aim for about 50 cents per Amp-hour.  A buck per amp-hour is too high.

People who run recycling depots can be convinced to let them go at times, particularly if you come with a voltmeter and show they guys that you've found a perfectly good one.  Often, it seems folks throw away good batteries.  Maybe they don't realize that it's their charger that's shot, not the battery.  I've picked up many that way.

No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.

I'll give Walmart a try and ask friendsd who are members at Costco to have a look.

Have you seen car batteries at either ?

Good idea about the recycling center, might give it a try.

Thx!

Where in Canada are you located?  I went to a large golf cart/lawn & garden supplier that deals in golf carts in my area, after 5 years they replaced the batteries in some. I bought 8 a while back for $40 each, not sure if he has any left.  I have 2 of the 8 with 1 cell not as good but they sat all winter in the cold so they may have been fine before... They are Trojan t 105's
