Tower for Power
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:25:54 AM »
Dave Moller has been engineering and fabricating parts for his 70' self standing tower which will soon be home to his 20' machine.

Last Fall I helped some with the concrete work and if the 3 photo links below work OK you can see just a bit of change in the weather from some assembly work we did the other day.

Other than what I know of 20' at the base and 70' overall you would need to contact Dave M. more on the specifics if interested. As can always be expected of Dave's work, the engineering and fabrication of this tower is superior. He can be reached at : www.royalfabrication.com

I hope the links work here for these 3 photos.

It'll be interesting to see the hinge system and method of raising/lowering on that tower.

Looks like you guys got the same problem with snow that we got here - too much of it.

The snow was about thigh deep in spots back there and nearly a foot had fallen again the night before, so far the Spring breaks just aren't happening.

The serious hinges are already in place and the legs are secured to them. This was all set in the concrete last Fall as well as the winch anchor. We're talking 2 loads of concrete into this project. The gin pole arrangement will be interesting to set up but Dave assures me he has this worked out as well and I don't doubt him the least.

We'll post more photos and updates as we move forward, his machine is basically completed and with any luck with the weather things will be happening at an accelerated rate.
