Hi ,

I wondered if anyone has experience of these inverters and can comment on their reliablilty .

In Canada ,Acklands have them for sale at about $400 for a 1800 watt inverter ,which seems a good deal .

By looking at Acklands http://www.acklandsgrainger.com/AGIPortalWeb/WebSource/ProductDisplay/globalProductDetailDisplay.do?
item_code=TUNHD1800-12

and Tundras http://www.tundrainternational.com/en/inverters/professional/hd1800/

pages it's a modified square wave inverter.

I wonder if they are like the Xantrex XPower series, "Designed in Canada, Manufactured in China"

Um, I'm not sure about these tundra inverters, never used one. But myself and some others have been having good success with AIMS inverters from www.invertersrus.com .

I have a 800w/2000w peak AIMS inverter, and I am very happy with it. I know nothing to loose has one of those big 5000w ones, and is very happy with it. It costs about $500us, and you can get it here:

or if you search for AIMS on amazon.com Inverters R Us sells them there too. They also have lots of other sizes, and a 24v 5kw one. Check them out.

Cheers,

Stephen.

Forgot to add, they have the best prices around, and there customer service the best I have ever seen. On average they replied to my email within 5 minutes of me sending them!

Cheers,

Stephen.

From my experience AIMS inverters work just great. I bought mine at about $300 for a 2.5kW version.

They are also really easy to repair. Mine went up in smoke once and I could find the spare parts fairly easy.

I think I'll get the 5kW version for power increase.
