OK4U Grid Tie inverter wiring hookup needed.
« on: July 22, 2008, 08:33:43 PM »
I have a couple of the old OK4U micro grid tie inverters, the US model. They are hard wired, no plugs as there seems to be with others herein listed in some of the old posts. Most of the links in the old posts on the subject seem to have expired.

What I need help with is the wiring hookup. I cannot figure out what the purpose of the following two wire are, the blue and orange (it may be actually red) wires are used for. Are they used for a serial data connection? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Where are you?

I think those things are illegal

in the U.S. for grid tie.

My 2 cents

That's quite possible, a guerilla grid may be frowned upon by the local utility. However, as a hobbyist I like to tinker with things. Before I drop them on ebay I was interested in finding out what they are capable of. Capacity wise they are kind of puny.
