exmork, guy wires
« on: May 11, 2010, 03:23:32 AM »
looking for assistance - story: bought ax Exmork 2 kw unit some time ago, now starting to put it up.  The unit is Chinese, the accompanying manual is obviously written by a non-native English author, hence my inability to fully comprehend said document.  Anyways, I want to make sure I'm configuring the hardware correctly, depth of guy wire concrete blocks enough, etc, and any and all such info as can be had as this is my first attempt @ augmenting our solar system with wind adaptations. thanx in advance.

More information needed,

Blade diameter, tower height, soil type, your location and or wind conditions.

Go to http://www.bergey.com/    look up how to install, a few ideas there.

Oh and a Chinglish dictionary helps.

Thanx.  3 m wide, 9 m ht, packed soil overlying pahoehoe lava base, big island of Hawaii, varying windage with common cut-in speeds available and upwards depending on the seasons.  I'll look @ the Bergey site... no speaky Chinglish gooder.

Brian I can only tell you what I did for my 19m tower for 3m turbine, my soil is sandy loam over clay.
Basically I used the post hole digger on the tractor to dig 4 holes to 600mm deep, dug that out to form an oblong approximately 900(at right angles to the cables)x600mm anchor in middle then concrete and big rocks. My soil does not get saturated or frozen unless hell freezes over.
That was back in 2005 and there has been no problems with the anchors nor do I expect any, of course anchor distance from tower makes a big difference, the greater the radius the less stress on the anchor.
I will look for pics today and measure my radius but from memory 9m radius.
