batteries on concrete
« on: June 14, 2010, 09:39:21 PM »
I brought home some 2 volt cells and tried to bring them back to life.
For about a year I gave them some good charge and discharge cycles.
But this is the result after moving them to the cabin.

Any ideas to fix the garage floor?

Looks like they boiled over and etched your concrete.

...buy some concrete etchant, miuriatic acid, at a box store.Power wash firstt, allow to dry thoroughly  apply muratic with a natural bristle brush... (you'll find those in the concrete aisle.. or use a roofing tar brush )

..etch to match...

I get the feeling you already knew this and wanted to show cool pictures of what can happen..  ;)

Clean the floor with trisodium phosphate first. That will remove any oil left and may eliminate the need to etch the floor.

I believe the sealer was eaten off.
And closer to the camera the concrete
was eaten pretty good.

I have never used it but at work I see
the floor finishers using a self leveling
patch stuff all the time.

I was hoping to just float some grout
stuff with latex in it over the area after
cleaning of course.  I saw some at home
depot the other day.  I'm sure the color
won't match or if it will stay adhered.
And then seal like the rest of the floor.
