Remote living
« on: June 19, 2006, 09:27:02 PM »
Here are a few pictures of some outdoor shelters built entirely from the environment. A little crude but very fun.

This is called a debris hut. It uses no rope and built properly can keep you very warm. As this was my first attempt at building one I froze. It was to big and the temperature dropped to -3.

This "home" is called a Quincy it fit my son Jeremy and my self for the night. It was -15 outside and we slept right through the night.

So if anyone is interested in living off grid here are a few options.

If I ever figure out what's in the box then maybe I can think outside of it.

Thank you DanB for commenting on this post. Did anyone sleep in the shelter? If our children can't enjoy our lives; our lives are not worth enjoying. Scott
