I have been lurking in the background for a very long time and until now did not even have an account .
I must say I really like the board for the content. The older board was less than ideal. This one is so nice I signed up for an account right away.
Its just me, my woman a couple dogs and a few cats living back here in the woods. We have some solar panels and a couple of smallish windmachines. On grid but getting off the tit a little at a time.
If i had had any sense 20 years ago I would have bought solar panels and batteries rather than pay the power company the $10K it took to get a line back here. I was still pretty dumb in my 40's I guess. Telephone was nearly as bad but without it I wouldn't have even the crappy internet I have now.
Retired, plain tired and sick and tired. From what and of what in future diary entries perhaps.
We make, grow or hunt most of what we need but thats getting harder all the time mostly because we seem to need more all the time.
Off to check the corn mash.
