A start in wind
« on: June 08, 2003, 07:33:18 AM »
I have been hanging around this board for a few years now and i am finaly just finishing my first turbine. It is a converted induction motor 1 HP 1800 rpm 3 phase. I have placed 8 mags around the center  arranged in 4 poles like the motor was orginally. I have put together a swing out governing out tail that is held on with "U" bolts so that I can adjust    how far off center it is. Pictures as soon as i get a better camera.

Now i just need to get a tower in place.

Wish me luck after you see a picture I'm shue you will decide I really need some prayers to keep this thing in the air.

Finally got the thing up today

producing less than 100 watts

long story short my alt needs more rpm to make much power

so I ordered some hornet blades.

It sure looks good to see it finally fly even if it was only lighting a 50 watt bulb.
