Simple Blades and Rotors - Part 1
« on: October 02, 2004, 06:06:22 AM »
Dear Friends

This is Part-1 of a small 3-Part series on simple blades and rotors suitable for teachers, school students, and other students, etc etc.

Please note that all material included in these three short papers fully conforms in both the letter and in the/my intent to the normal and usual Scandinavian and EU understanding and praxis for the use of different presented, printed and available material for the purposes of bona-fide public review, extract, quotation, and discussion - and for their further study and experimental non-commercial purposes only - and therefore "in-the-final-end" for the benefit of all.

Likewise please note that this material has been previously presented, discussed and experimented with together with other friends, colleagues and students.

Part - 1:

This is a link to a file previously generously archived on this server:

http://www.otherpower.com/images/scimages/119/bladecar.pdf

A: The first section on this above file concerns the difficulties often met with regard to blade visualization and the therefore full understanding of blade and rotor constructional drawings etc.

B:  The second section - concerns attempts to put the understanding of this visualization into simple praxis. And is likewise an attempt to study and further advance the technology of this simple wooden blade construction under conditions or in places where adequate choice of wood is perhaps not so easily available or obtainable.

NB:  The following papers will be added to these "diary's" very shortly; -

Part - 2: - A short article concerning simple "plastic rotors"

Part - 3: - Will discuss and further illustrate larger simple blades and 2-bladed rotor design and construction with particular emphasis on interesting simple and low-cost German design solutions and approaches.

In addition - I will likewise include a small paragraph concerning large-size home-made Savonius-rotors and a further paragraph based on on-site research into Cretan sail-windmills.

Greetings to all - JF
