Today is my first day on this site.  Pretty interesting site.  I was directed to this site while trying to locate a long lost online friend.  His website is no longer in existance and since I have not heard from him in months, got a little worried.

Well, had I logged in properly to this site, I am sure I would have been able to view quite a bit more that what I already have.  Sometimes I wonder if the hair dye I am using is affecting my brain cells...LOL.  I plan on continuing to explore this site.  But first I must work on my school stuff.  I am trying to get my degree.  I am in my first year and I think I have reached a burn out point...pretty sad.  But I must force myself to continue.  I have set a goal for myself and I plan on achieving it.

welcome....i know how you feel about the burnout stage....just try to remember that life is about a whole lot of tiny steps , not big ones......just do your best and that will be enough......time management is a key issure with studies and i don't have the answer either but that was where i struggled with heavy schoolwork in engineering........i am very grateful now that i am done...there is a tremendous amount of self worth finishing yur education..you have to do it to feel it.....you will be in the top percentile of people in the country and that my friend brings alot of self worth....take care...wish you the best....pickster

Get on with your studies, but do not think is not possible to take a break if that's you need. I suppouse you are quite young, and one or two semesters more, will not count. OK I live in a country there education is free, not only for me, for all including you, and is does not matter if you are born here. The only thing you have to change is IF you dye (die)your hair it is your  matter. You  must pass the test, all must do, even me.

Burn out in the first year is not a good sign.  First year stuff is pretty easy.  It gets harder as you progress.  I'd like to suggest you find ways to rest those brain cells.  Go for a walk.  Go to the gym.  Take up folk dancing.  Go ice skating.  I did all those at various times and they do help.  I'm sure you can find some activity that will help rejuvinate you.  Good luck.

Stick it out!

I found the first and second years hardest. Getting the 'everybody needs it' classes out of the way.

I enjoyed my major, looked forward to those classes.

Simply couldn't stand the composition, literature, etc.

Math is my first language. Any class with numbers I liked and found easy.
