i'm new....

someone linked this site on another site, so i decided to come see. Myself and my husband are in our early twenties, and saving money to buy up some land, and build ourselves a self sufficiant home. i'm beginning to research all of these things. It's just a little overwhelming considering i have no real trade skills or training. I'm a tattoo artist. i've studided architecture at university, and also been to art school.  this is my dream though, and i am determined to get there!

Hey! Welcome to this post! To my way of thinking it's about the best place to be for learning how to use renewable energy and how to help conserve our natural resources.

By the time you have asked a few questions and started off on a couple of little projects you'll be so busy sharing in the fun ....you won't have time to think about being overwhelmed!

   Like the guy said....

Gee! When I first got here I didn't even know how to speil injuneer and now I is one !

I have been comming here for about 2 years now. Have made many friends and learned a huge amount about RE and how to do it.

Consider it university at home.  (and it don't cost nothing here)  :-)

Nice to have you around !

What type of power system do you want to build: solar or wind, etc ?

Will you have 120 volts AC power at your new house ?

Do you want to make your generators or use store bought ones ?

Welcome!

One newbie to another... Don't get scared away!

So much of this is cutting edge by people with years of experience and big machine shops. It totally freaks me out what some of the people here can do in their garage.

But, there is a lot of starter information too! Stuff that is easy to do, doesn't cost much, and it WORKS!

And it is big fun.
