OK new data,
Finally got some readings both amperage and voltage on two different loads as well as open.
First, Trivo, confermed I had readings correct with regards to small wire and large wire windings so I may have something wrong, but here goes see what you make of it. Oh ya these are rectified.
Small wire winding:
No Load
350 RPM 14-14.5v
1300RPM 48v
Loaded (headlight)
350 RPM 3.5v 1.7a
1300RPM 15v 3.0a
Loaded (battery)
350RPM .5a
1300RPM 2.7a
Large wire winding:
No Load
350RPM 16.6
1300RPM 58.5
Loaded (headlight)
350RPM 8.6v 2.6a
1300RPM 20.2v 3.3a
Loaded (battery)
350RPM 1.5a
1300RPM 3.5a
That's what I get for readings, not sure about the confused reading as far as wire size goes but I did conferm that I had writen it down correctly.
Also when spinning with drill I notice a very heavy(for lack of a better word) feel in one spot in the rotation. I don't know maybe drag is a better word, but it's a pulse. The more the draw the more pronounced it is. Displayed AC output on ociliscope and all waves seem even. Confermed that rotor is not rubbing stator, so thats not it. May be that the mags are not precisly spaced (as I mentioned I had trouble getting the groups together, but they are very close).
Well that's it, based on these figures can anyone help me with sizing a rotor for this, I do have lots of wind so low speed isn't a problem.
