Update on the Dual stator gen.
« on: February 24, 2005, 05:05:45 PM »
I did not mean to misslead anyone on this generator. This is the latest. I am not using the overdrive with this generator. This new one does have some weight behind it

for it helps to act like a flywheel. I have been able to make it a little more stable at low rpm. The overdrive unit on the old unit worked just great, but the generator was not that good, it would only put out 22 amps even at top speed.I am using a 14' prop here. Max rpm could be estimated at 425 to 450 rpm.

2400w @ 450RPM from 96 magnets gives me great hope! I have currently done about 90 microwaves (180 magnets) and have another 50 odd to go for a total of 288 magnets in my 20" dual rotor radial flux alt. I will be using 3/4" neos in the centre holes and laminations in the stator. I'm hoping for around 10kW @ 200 rpm. Any  more detail on your alt would be great (dimensions, clearances, windings, gauge....)

allan thanks for the up date. as i said in an earlyer comment i had a three rotor two stator design on my sketch pad and thanks to you i got real with it . i used an acrilic disk for the central rotor and imbeded/cast the mags into it . iwant to utilize both poles. now i'm working on spindles for my coil jig. are your stators out of phase or runing parallel /series???
