Are yoy going to use canvase or wood to cover the frame? If you plan to do some white water( Even class I rapids ), either use wood-fiberglass or canvas & fiberglass. If your just going to paddle arround a lake, deep river, or bay, you can get away with canvas that has been painted with enamel paint.
