Making DO

  It would be nice to have a band saw to carve blades with. But it is possible to use some other tools too.I have an old cable spool-work table so I bolted some pieces of angle iron to it.Using C-clamps to hold the work piece horizontal while sawing one angle and verticle for the others.


As you can see the skill-saw does some and the saws-all cuts the taper.This gives a smother finish than hand saw and chisel method I used before.And for finishing work.Northern-Tools has an adapter kit that turns a high speed metal grinder into a high speed wood sander.Then I used a dry-wall smother as a hand planer.So far so good,its raining so had to close my aboreal shop.Warning These Tools Were Not Nessarly Ment TO Work On These Angles So Take Care.

There is a wheel you can get for your grinder that looks like it was an orphan of a chain saw . I saw it on one of those h&g specials on tv. The guy was carving some prety wild stuff with it.

You have to be careful with those though, because they can rip you a new one real quick. ;)
