Reading from a board search for "Ametek"

I found this

" The 40 and 30 VDC Ameteks are not good enough for me, as you don't see much more than a few amps (max is like 4 I think) out of them."

Is this true?

Was $20. wasted on a learning experience?

Or am I going to have a mini gen that might charge a single 12V DC DeepCycle

In a wind storm only?

AnyBody Have an Opinion?

Please!

I am still searching for "Charge Controlling"!!

THANKS

FF

fooser;

I can tell you from experience that those smaller 30 and 40 volt Ameteks are basically just way to whet your appetite for a real mill! I very seldom saw much more than a couple amps from them.

If you had stumbled on and read my Diary on these you would have seen they are pretty miserable on output. They are quick and easy.

46 watts at 900 RPM is pretty miserable but what you will get from the 30 volt units and not much more from the 40 volt unit.

Cheers.
