MidWinter Fun....
« on: December 26, 2005, 06:46:50 PM »
Got this shipment last Saturday [Christmas eve day]:

Unpacked them and turns out it is a nice complete 2 meter 3 phase 1 horse Zubbly Original Conversion.

Yaw bearing, tail boom and tail were in the odd shaped box.

Here is the completed unit on my assembly stand.

Sorry for the poor pics but our warm spell has turned our fresh clean looking snow to snirt thats dirty snow to those unfamiliar with the term. The snirt makes pictures with good contrast very hard to take.

Here is a view from the front showing the blades and hub area.

This is the top of the short tower. That mast is 1.90 inch O.D. schedule 80 tube guyed back to the tower legs with 3/8 ready rod, some eyebolts and coupling nuts.

This is my winch. Pretty simple just a boat winch with enough cable to do the lifting. Man powered but effective.

Just wanted to post something before i forgot details.

This motor was converted using those arc segment magnets that Zubbly found someplace. The yaw bearing is using a bushing of UHMW. It is quite stiff and does not seem to be tracking the wind but time will tell.

From boxes to ready to install on mast this only took about an hour and a half to assemble.
