big wind
« on: February 08, 2006, 04:50:06 PM »
i watched some of nature's furry try to take down some of my hard work and i enjoyed every minute of it even though i was holding my brearh most of the time. my meighbor lost a very large live oak, about 30" in diameter but my windmills came through just fine. a large weather front came through and lasted most of the day with almost constant wind gust. the fiberglass poles flexed back about a foot and then came back like a fishing rod. the blades did not sceem to flix, but probley did. they were just a blur amd it was hard to see until they furled and slowed down just a little. a good test of poles and windmills. thanks for looking, pepa

once the oil runs out you gonna need those walls to keep back the cannibalistic hords trying to rip off your windmills!!

well the people in china and some desert countries used to use the north side of a wall or building (shaded) to make ice in the winter, just spray it with water at night or day if its really cold and then chip it off later, and bury it underground a few feet, if you go deep enough and collect enough ice, and insulate it well enough you can have ice all year :-)  or you could just get a plastic tray, fill it with water and throw it in the freezer, or buy it from your local retailer.
