i've been working on a mini gen lately , and did some testing in front of a fan.
i got 2.29V dc @ 361 rpm with three 9 3/8 inch radius blades.
Then i hooked it up to a 1.2v NiMH battery.
it was putting 115 mA into the battery @ 263 rpm
thats 138mW
i expect it will do a lot better when i put the other ( 5 ) coils , on there.
as it is at the moment it is an 8 pole dual rotor machine (4.25"dia. ),with one of six coils .
mags are 7/8" dia x 1/2 ".
i'll post some pics later , i must say it looks pretty cool.
the coil isnt what i will be using later but i wanted to try it out.
it has 130 turns of #20 gauge, but i'm going for around 200 turns.
this is some data about the coils ,from my progam , i think i'll probably use.
Gauge= 20 Wire dia. = 0.0340 inches ohms per foot 0.0101500
coil od = 1.690 coil width = 0.462 coilid= 0.670
Final Diameter = 1.690
Num turns per coil radius = 15.000
Number of turns per coil width = 13.588
total number of turns 203.824
wire length(feet)= 61.976
Single wound ohms per coil 0.629054 turns/coil= 203.82
Total ohms for one phase (2 coils) 1.258
Delta single wound line to line resistance (2 coils/phase) 0.8387
