I get out about 100W before I top out. 50W is a very sustainable output.
I once calculated how much a bag of potato crisps would yield in electricity (assuming 100% metabolic & mech. conversion efficiencies). IIRC, it was about 1kWhr. Meaning 20 hrs of cycling at 50W. Yikes... Even with correct efficiencies, this may well be 6-7 hours, I guess.

I read recently that the typical human body is about 28% efficient at converting "fuel" energy into mechanical work. . .
so that's still about 4 hours of peddling, assuming the combined efficiency of the generator apparatus at 80%. . . Just say no to the junkfood. <G>
