Heartfelt Appology
« on: July 11, 2006, 12:31:37 PM »
Hello all,

The following is a letter I sent to DanF on Sunday and now feel I need to post to the entire board:

--------------------

Let me start this off by saying I'm really very sorry to have ever started

the thread in my diary section. Things seemed to have spiraled out of

control really quick. My original intent fell be the wayside after about the

3rd posting. I really don't have any excuses for my part of the whole thing

but I am going to let it die as quickly as possible, hoping others forget

it. I doubt that they will, but I do take complete responsibility and will

live with the consequences. Maybe you can see that this is not my normal

behavioral mode.

My only defense is that I've had a Fu--ing massive migraine headache for 3

days now and it just won't let up. I've taken 4 Alieve today already. I

should just stay away from everyone and everything until it passes. I know,

that's weak. A man my age should have more self control even under these

conditions. An ass is an ass by any other name.

Please try to express to Tom W. that I'm just an ignorant ass, and proved it

quite well on the board. That also goes for the rest of the users I pissed

off. It will never happen again. You have my word of honor, which believe it

or not, I take very seriously.

You guys have a great resource and I had, have, no motive for my actions. I

think it's the rouge elephant thing. The bunny turned into a damned T. rex

and they don't make boxes big enough.

Again, my deepest regrets for the ugly rampage.

---------------------

OZ, BruceS and all the rest, I truely am sorry. You do not have to forgive or forget.

Roger, your apology accepted. You can most certainly express yourself in words. In my world words can only be superseded by other words. Believe it or not. Welcome back. Joe

Roger;

Hey, no worries. We all have bad days. It is not everyone who can apologize in public. I could have reacted better myself.

Cheers.

Thank you really a lot for this letter.

After seeing TomW's comment I think that everything is now OK.

We all have got bad days. With some others it just takes a longer time. It is good to hear that your

headache is now better.

All,

Those that do not suffer from these horrible headaches have no idea how it can effect a person, and should count their blessings. Those that do have complete understanding, if not sympathy. I've had to go to ER for real serious drugs on previous occasions. In my case I have no idea what triggers them, and no two are allike. Some come and go within a few hours, while others last days. Still, as many as I've had I should have known better than to try to express myself or understand the feelings of others. Both are futile. The odd thing is this last episode was the first in over 3 months, and the worst in years. With that said I still feel I was way out of line, and presents an image contra to my true personality.

Also I am under more stress than I've experienced in several years from both work and person issues. Wildblue.net has gone down right in the middle of web updates in the past week, and remained unavailable for hours. Not good and adds to the stress. My wife and I have not had what one could call a vacation in over 8 years. That effects her more than me, but as the old saying goes, "When momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy".

As for my use of words. I take no credit. I had several good, and strict, teachers that hammered on me until their instructions held. While I think it may have been implied that I have a "degree" to stamp at the end of my name it is not true. I only completed 2.5 years of post high school education, which looking back was a waste of time and money. Not that the education itself was a waste, but rather the subjects which I studied. Had I the chance to redo that phase of my life I would have choosen much differently. At 18 I had no idea what life was about, and still find myself wondering occasionally.

Again, to those I offended I am truely and deeply sorry.

Roger , yuo start out saying "I have no idea what triggers them"

i knew something was wrong in your life before i later read "Also I am under more stress than I've experienced in several years from both work and personl issues"

it may sound too easy , but you gotta relax, get rid of or fix what is wrong and the headaches will go away.

Roger,

Welcome back from the darkside. These things happen in a family, but happily, families always seem to find a way to move on. My conduct did not exactly glisten with rectitude either, and I'm sorry for that also. Toms happy, I'm happy, your better, and now were all happy....

i have been an editor for a long time i just kept a low profile and let tom do most of the work as he usually got to it first. when i did edit i did so anonymously so as not to draw to much attention to myself. but i have changed that policy do to the number of complaints about anonymes editors and started putting my name in comments i make in posts i edit.

Will,

Yes, you have a valid point. However I've had these blasted things come on like a runaway frieght train when I was as relaxed as a jellyfish. I think I'm just one of the lucky ones, but not good lucky. No, I've had these darned things since 10th grade, and had fewer in the past few years than any other period in my life. Some Dr.'s have said they are diet related, others agree with you. I saw that there is a new device that just gained FDA approval that zaps ones head with short duration high intensity elctromagnetic pulses. Maybe it's a miniture dual rotor alternator. Hey DanB, ya reckon that megamill of yours could have the airgap adjusted wide enough for my big fat head to fit between the rotors? ;-0

At any rate these things are no fun, as I wouldn't wish one upon TomW (BAD JOKE!)! Building windturbines is fun, tilting at them is not! My lance lays splintered on the field of honor.

BTW, is otherpower home turf anywhere near Southpark, CO? If so maybe y'all could send Towelee down to help me unwind a bit. (wink, grin, smirk). Not really, momma would really not be too happy then.

i too may have been a bit harsh with my comment, and would like to appologize

to anyone i may have offended.

the folks that run this board, the Dan's, TomW, and Kurt, and whoever else, do a tireless job here, and it is much needed and appreciated.

i get to be a crotchedy old buzzard too at times, although i try to think before i act i am not always successful.

this board has evolved over the years, and for the most part i am pleased to see the direction it has gone.

i remember the days of endless discussion on unity and overunity machines, god did that ever get tedious. i had a fit back then, and probably shouldnt have. Bottom line is those discussions finally went away. hooray! :)

i am still heading for an offgrid lifestyle, and i figure to have more free time, to

build and experiment with windpower myself. hopefully then i can add to the discussion something useful to someone. Until then i will try to keep the trap shut, and just read, learn and enjoy the board.

i also plan to be able to finally go to colorado and actually meet the Dan's one day, as i will be in kansas then and it aint as far to go.

HUGS everyone?

I have learned patience myself due to my little blind Pug dog. Always enjoys attention even when I am not in the mood. I have learned to put my brain in gear before operating my mouth. I used to be a crotchety old guy before I got this little guy.

Migranies I can under stand. No hard feelings.

I find that 3 500mg Tylenonl taken at the same time beats up on the pain in about 20mins.

Cheers and Take care

Roger, I can fully understand the migraines.

I get them bad enough at times that my eyes cross.  I've forgotten my son's name, I've forgotten my wife and I were married, I've walked full tilt into a solid steel door without even seeing it nor feeling it.

I can only attribute one pain to being worse, and that is a tooth root decaying beyond root canal help.  And yes, I've broken bones, been shot, stabbed, smacked with a golf club, kicked in the nads by a soccer player, etc, etc, etc.

When a pain is so strong you can't even think straight, it's bad.

So you have my sympathies and commiseration.  And as for not posting when enduring a migraine, well you're not exactly thinking straight to begin with, are you?!?!?!?  ;)

Anyways, don't beat yourself up too bad over the whole thing.  Life will go on, as they say.

Wow... The only one I haven't had was the golf club! (Does a shovel count?)

to paraphrase... "If it ain't killed ya yet, it juss makes y'all stronger." Or something like that. Words is words. Don't fret too much.

Hey Roger,

Interesting that you post this on my wifes birthday, and she suffers greatly from these evil headaches. While I do not, for the last 8 years I have witnessed the horrible symtoms, the worst being violent shaking, vomiting, and halucinations for almost 2 days and then, bam!!, it was gone. If you can get your Dr to prescribe Fioricet (not sure of the spelling) that is about the only thing that helps her (sometimes), however it is a controled substance with a huge dose of caffine included so if you get the jitters easily forget it, you'll be in orbit. Some docters won't give it out, but it might be worth a try mentioning to yours. She only takes it when needed, as soon as she starts to feel the pain. For what it's worth I hope it helps.

Another one I heard of refering to your post above (a far less medical solution and I doubt the FDA will ever approve it)  :-> was told to me by a shop foreman in an automotive shop I worked in years and years ago. He claimed it was a surefire cure (try it at your own discression) however my wife refuses. This is going to sound really crazy but he sword it brought instant and lasting releaf. Here goes, a long sparkplug wire(he used to keep one in the top drawer of his tool box) one end placed in the mouth(nice and wet and conductive) the other end connected to the secondary wire tower on coil couple of cranks of the engine an presto headache gone. Now mind you this was back before high energy electronics!!!!!!

Well that all, just had to reaspone the date struck me as being odd and I haven't checked into the board for sometime and just happened to stumble on your post. Hopefully one of the above will help you in the future.
