Price check!
« on: July 25, 2006, 04:42:39 AM »
I'm trying to find a price for a BPSolar 50watt 48volt solar panel, Model BP850.

I can't seem to find anyone who carries this item. I know for a fact that it exists because I have one sitting in my room.

If someone can find a price for this panel I'd greatly appreciate it. Since it's a 48volt unit I can't (easily) use it in my array, but I'm heading off to the SOL-WEST RE Fair this weekend and I'm hoping I can maybe strike a deal for a decent charge controller...or a comperable 12v panel.

However, not having a price for this item, I'm not sure what to ask for it.

I doubt it is still made.  48V is `rare' and 50W is `small' for 48V.

With the current shortages, production is going toward 12V or grid-tie voltages, and higher wattage panels.

Price?  To the guy who needs one, maybe $275 is a good deal (if new).  Considerably less to a dealer who needs to make a profit.

The panel is 'unused', but is not in a box nor does it have any documentation. (PDF's are available though)

Tis funny that I should post this now, as the same source of the panel I have has just offered up an identical unit for the same price.. $100.

Even if I only turn them over for $200 each, I'm still coming out ahead!

Though if he has more I may opt to buy him out in preparation for a stand alone 48V well pump system.
